Wilderness Learning Center

Come Touch, Feed, Photograph Wildlife

Wilderness Learning Center

We only handle small groups, 24 or less, so reserve your space early.

The Center is a place to interact with live animals. Learn the history of area wildlife and their impact on Denali/Alaska, the Alaska Railroad and mining in the area. Step inside our hand built 1909 reindeer herders cabin, still used today. Meet a dog musher as he/she tells about musing 1000 miles of trail on the Yukon Quest, pet and hold a race puppy. Its a place to get a real feeling of what life was and is in the Alaska bush summer and winter.  The Center is also a place to take sick, hurt or orphaned animals, a place for wildlife to rest and recover.
